LACAH Fall 2021: Revisiting the Cold War

Updated: Sep 7, 2021

Calling all high school students from around the world! Passionate about law? Interested in connecting with peers from around the world? Want to try something new? Sign up for LACAH III today!

WHAT IS LACAH?

The Law Association for Crimes Across History (LACAH) puts historical figures on stand for their crimes. As a completely student-run organization dedicated to law and mock trial, the LACAH team is here to help students delve deeper into the legal world through a historical lens. Through our biannual tournaments, participants are able to take part in numerous mock trials in which they can debate about events in history and meet students with similar interests.

WHAT IS THIS TRIAL'S CASE?

This fall, prepare to dive deep into the metaphorical trenches of the Cold War as we put Anatoly Kornukov on stand for ordering the shooting of civilian plane KAL007, resulting in the death of 269 civilian passengers.

WHAT IF YOU'RE A BEGINNER?

Don't worry! At LACAH, you will be guided by our executive team and work with a plethora of professionals ranging from real lawyers to mock trial champions to cultivate essential skills and prepare for the tournament.

Also, LACAH isn't all about speech and debate; being a great witness also means dedicated acting. So if you love theatre, this is a great opportunity to show off your skills.

WHEN AND HOW DO I SIGN UP?

LACAH Fall 2021 will be held on October 30th and October 31st and the registration period ends on September the 26th. Each team will consist of 4 members: two attorneys and two witnesses. You can sign up right here on our website www.lacah.net/sign-up-now as a team or as an individual, where we will try our best to pair you with other individual sign ups. We hope to see you there!

If you are a team in Shanghai, the event will take place in person. However, due to COVID, non-Shanghai teams will have to participate through Zoom.
